Before WhatsApp, the Facebook group already had an instant messaging app. it is Messenger which today introduces a new version on both Android and iOS. This new version is packed with new features. Both functionalities and apparent changes, which begin with its icon which in the process takes a lot of colors. Messenger gets a makeover and here's what Facebook has to offer in its flagship instant messaging client.
A new icon
Facebook owns Facebook the social network, Messenger the instant messaging application with its Facebook contacts. But also Instagram, the social network specializing in photo sharing. Not to mention WhatsApp, the world's most widely used instant messaging application.
Not surprisingly, by modifying the Messenger icon, Facebook is inspired by that of Instagram punctuated by shades of red, orange, blue, purple and even yellow. Here is the new Messenger icon:
"Our new logo reflects a shift in the future of messaging, a more dynamic, fun and integrated way to stay in touch with people close to you," Facebook concluded in its official statement.
Fusion Messenger + Instragam
This new version of Messenger is also punctuated by an incestuous rapprochement between the instant messaging app and Instagram.
Indeed, now it is possible to combine the two accounts in order to reply to messages received both on Messenger and on Instagram at any time from any of the two apps.
A few new things in shambles
Besides the change of logo and the merger of the private messengers of Messenger and Instagram, Facebook introduced in the new version of Messenger some new features.
Including themes or customizable reactions. In addition, there are now issues of selfie stickers and a disappearance mode that will make conversations on command and on the fly disappear.
